Did you know that 1 kid in 5 goes hungry each day? This week you have helped to feed several hungry children. The results of the Snowflakes to End Hunger Contest are as follows:
5th place – Mrs. Aren’s class with 5
4th place – Ms. Ingram’s class with 6
3rd place – Mr. Janecke’s class with 7
2nd place – Mrs. Hankinson’s class with 23
1st place – TIE – Mr. Clements and Mrs. Harris’ classes with 41
Thanks to everyone who participated in the contest! We raised a total of $143.00 for No Kid Hungry!
Other statistics given on the days of the contest include:
Nearly 22% of kids under 18, which is 16 million children, live in poverty and go hungry regularly. Bring your dollar to help those who need it and purchase a snowflake for your homeroom.
Hunger effects how someone performs in school. 9 out of 10 teachers say that having a healthy breakfast is the key to doing well in school. Won’t you help those who need it by purchasing a snowflake?
